Understanding the drivers of raw material and manufacturing costs is essential in realising cost saving opportunities. Although, instead of focusing on analysis and decision making, service matter experts often spend vast amounts of time developing their own reporting solutions. We helped one of our partners eliminate spreadsheet chaos by moving to Power BI. Using their expertise in procurement and ours in data visualisation, we built a report which helped them generate “what if” scenarios based on raw material price change, while also leveraging PowerApps’ custom visual to integrate a write back feature to an SQL database.
